Sol-Orr's Skooter

These pictures were taken March 19,
2010, Skooter is two and
a half years old in these pictures. He comes from a
long line of show animals, his sire, Sol-Orr's Magnum, is an MSFGA Master Champion who
in 2007, won Best in Show twice and a Best Coat in Show, then he
went on to win three more Best in Shows in 2008. His Grand Dam,
Sol-Orr's Maggie Mae,
was the first MSFGA Master Champion and also was a Best in Show in
2006 and 2007. Skooter's dam is an MSFGA Master Champion
too. We are excited about bringing Skooter out this spring
for his show debut, our hope is that he will follow in his parent's
foot steps and bring home the Master Championship!
The pictures above are of Skooter taken in early March,
2010. I was not able to get Skooter groomed last year and his coat
was pretty well felted. With the help of a good friend, lots of
patience and co-operation from Skooter we were able to comb him out
and preserve his coat. I wouldn't recommend letting your Mini
Silkies get in this condition, but I wanted to show that no matter how
matted their coat may be, with a little patience, TLC and time, you can comb
those coats out. Skooter has a very correct silky, high luster coat
which contributed to the success of this grooming chronicle.
