This Show Will Be Held in Honor and Memory of Stephen K Orr.

There will be four Mini Silky Shows in one day, one set of
classes in the morning and again in the afternoon, judged simultaneously and independently by
two judges. At the end of each class each judge's placements will be
announced and ribbons will be awarded. Because of the time
constraints, the judges will not be giving oral reasons for their
placements. If you would like to get a verbal critique from the
judge, you may talk with the judge/s after the show. Champion legs will be
available in each division, under each judge, provided there are at
least five Mini Silkies in the senior divisions and at least 10 Mini
Silkies in the junior divisions. If you feel you have a
competitive Mini Silky, potentially you could achieve a Master
Championship in one day, which gives you maximum return on minimal
time and expense.
A Cup Trophy
will be awarded for each Best In Show, Best Wether in Show and the Best Coat In Show. ALL OPTIONAL CLASSES, including
Best Coat In Show will be judged between the morning and afternoon
classes. It will be judged by all 4 judges in concert. There will
only be ONE winner in each Optional class Awarded from all four
shows. These are very prestigious wins.
Something New
For 2010!!!
New Location & New Date!
New Location - Rockingham County
Fairgrounds a half mile south of Harrisonburg, VA,
just off of I 81 on Rt. 11 between exits 240 and 243.
New Date - The Old Dominion Gold
Cup Shows will now be held in the first part of May. This year it
will be Saturday May 8, 2010. Exhibitors from out of state may
arrive Friday afternoon and unload their goats.
Sale Animals
Exhibitors
are welcome to bring goats for sale;
there will be no parade of sale animals this year due to the time
constraints of the show. Because there is a lack of space and pens
and due to the enormous expense of putting on a show, folks who are not
entered in the show will not be permitted to display goats for sale
in the barn or on the show grounds.
We
will be offering a costume class again, so be sure to bring your
Bikers and Ballerinas. We hope that this will make for an exciting
day of shows and will make it worth while for out of town and out of
state exhibitors to make the effort to join us for a day of Mini
Silky fun.

Sponsorship
*We keep history pages of all of our shows
with results, pictures and sponsors so your full page ad or half page ad stays on
our show page forever for folks to refer to. Our first show was in
2006, you can still view the ads of all of our sponsors for that
year, as well as all the other years.
Show Sponsors are such an important part of
shows. You do not have to be a goat owner or exhibitor to be
a sponsor. Your contribution will be appreciated and announced
throughout the show, plus we will link to your website for 6 to 12
months, depending on what level of sponsorship you choose to do. This will expose your business to our Mini Silky Fanciers and
support the show at the same time. Sponsorships help defray the cost
of judge expenses, facility rental, ribbons, trophies and
advertisement for the show. Without Sponsors we are not able to put
on shows, so please consider helping us to promote Mini Silkies by
being a sponsor, you can help out by donating as little as $25.
Thank you for help and support.
