Getting Started
The Trophy Table

We had to get to Frying Pan
Park early Friday morning and set up for the shows to be held that day. The sun
was coming up bright and pretty and the air was cool and crisp. You could tell
it was going to be a beautiful day. The trophy table had both the ODGC Sunrise
Trophies and the ODGC Sunset Trophies on it as well as the Gold Cup Trophy for
the Best Coat In Show. There were Rosettes and Trophies for each Grand Champion
and Reserve Grand Champion and a Gold Cup for each Best in Show. There were also
trophies for the Judges Awards and the Viewer's Choice Award.

This is an example of the Gold Cup Trophies that were awarded to the Best In Show Winners and the Best Coat In Show Winner.

These trophies were awarded to the Grand Champions and Reserve Grand Champions along with a Rosette Ribbon, the Blue Ribbon Trophies in the back were awarded to Best Sire and Kid, Best Dam and Kid, Best Produce of Dam and Best Get of Sire in each show.
Getting Organized

Above our show volunteers, judge and
show clerk start to get everything lined up for the day so that all will run
smoothly. A special thanks to Sharon Joly who was our Show Clerk and also was
the the third judge in the Best Coat in Show class. Thank you to Jamee Hall who
is always there and willing to do anything to help. Jamee was our morning ring
steward and helped us all clean up after the show.
Exhibitor Arrivals

Above from in the left picture is
Cindy Rhoades from Just Kidding Fainters in VA and Keli Harold and her children from Eagle Cove Farm in VA.
The picture on the right is of High Pointe's Tow Mater from High Pointe Farm in VA.
Soon after the show ring, the trophy and clerk tables were set up, the exhibitors started to pull in and set up for the day. The arena that the show was held in is a huge horse arena, so we had everyone pull in with their trucks and trailers and circle the show ring. It made getting goats in and out of the ring convenient as well as allowing the exhibitors to watch the show while getting their Mini Silkies ready for their classes.

Above from left to right is The Foys
from Driftwood Farms in NY, the Schmidtkes from Quartz Rock Goats in VA and
Jeanne Allen from Wether Or Not Farm in VA.
Some Exhibitors came in trailers while others came in vans, trucks and SUVs. Most everyone had pens to set up so that we could all enjoy the beautiful Mini Silkies that they brought to show.
As everyone was checking in and setting up we had to measure in all of the goats to make sure that they were indeed Minis.

Janet Shlanta
from Springs Run Farm was
our official measurer, Thank you Janet.
After everyone was setup, there was some browsing and kid comparing going on.

Now, time to start getting ready for the competition...
Grooming was the first order of business...

Then the crowd begins to gather and the anticipation begins to build...

Some were more anxious than
others....
The Shows begins!
